QPIR q3 & sce exam result

happy halloween everyone 🙂 have some good news and bad news to share

Starting off with the bad news first coz that’s what you’re supposed to do i think. My main peer-to-peer lending venture is failing and from all the emails it looks like an absolute fucking disaster. but i actually don’t care and it’s v strange

My quarterly income has taken a wee hit but there is little point in mulling over things out with our control. thats why diversification is so important kids and why u should never invest your entire net worth into one opportunity regardlessthe “promised” headline rate

onto the good news – i actually passed my specialty certificate exam. It’s a bit of a landmark as it might be the last exam I ever have to take

despite being drunk out of my mind two out of the four weekends (whilst also working full time the third weekend) leading up to the exam, youll appreciate my surprise when i received the congratulatory email

the exam is supposedly set at the level of a new consultant, and it was obviouslyhard but not for conventional reasons. passing it at st4 is an achievement i guess. im not naive enough to think i can actually work at the level of a new consultant but 39 months should be enough time for me to figure it out

Going forward I don’t like to set specific goals anymore but hoping to reduce my ETOH intake. also at the absolute strongest ive ever been since starting lifting all those years ago but also at my heaviest so not sure if thatsgood or not.

going forward im becoming less& less bothered with specifics and just looking to do whatever makes me happy, not sure if I should even continue writing this blog anymore

I would be grateful if you continued to write this blog. As a fellow UK doctor also chasing FI I really appreciate that there are other people out there with similar goals (and struggles). I get inspiration from hearing about your journey, though I lag far far behind you. The UK FI community is much smaller than the American one and I think you might be the only UK doctor writing in this space. That position makes you unique and means that you probably still have lots to say even if you don’t feel like it
